Immigration Reform: Quote of the Month

We want to go to college“As for the 4 million people who will benefit from the DHS Directive, Congress has taken several steps to curtail the reunification of undocumented immigrants and their documented family members. The undocumented parent of a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident generally can stay in the United States only by (i) waiting until their child turns 21, (ii) leaving the country, (iii) waiting 10 more years, and then (iv) obtaining a family preference visa from a U.S. consulate abroad.” Paragraph 75 of the U.S. District Court Challenge to President Obama’s Immigration Reform which is resulted in a temporary restraining against Obama’s second wave of administrative reforms in the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Texas.

  • The above quote is from the playbook of the Political Party of Abraham Lincoln, and the supposed political party of “Family Values.” Are the U.S. Citizen children of undocumented immigrants to either grow up in the United States of America without parents, or grow up in a country with their parents in a country which they do not know?
  • This law was written nearly twenty years ago. It is out of date, out of touch, and is a ludicrous policy choice for today’s world. The President recognizes this. The majority of Republican members of the House of Representatives fear that these children will blame their Party for not compromising on immigration. They would be right!
